Under the Elizabethan *Statutes of the University a person who was admitted a member of a College after the age of 24, devoted himself to the study of theology, and performed the usual *exercises, was entitled after the lapse of ten years to proceed to the degree of Bachelor of Divinity without taking any previous degree of B.A. or M.A.2
