.Ref:- A list of apothecaries published in 1840, - Humphrey Maysmor - no address given - gained his LSA on 8 April 1819. The 1845 Medical Directory (the first published) lists - Maysmore, H. A (abr: Apothecary) 1819. Ref:- Royal College of Surgeons of England examinations book entries:- Humphrey Maysmor, examined on 15 March 1822, gaining his Diploma of Membership, no address recorded and he paid £22 fees. Lists of members give no address. Ref:- Crawford's Roll of the Indian Medical Service, Bengal list, 1823, number 948 is a Humphrey Maysmor, born 16 Jan. 1796, LSA 1819, MRCS 1821, Assistant Surgeon 19 Feb. 1823, killed in action at Ramu, Chittagong frontier, 16 May 1824. (First Burma War) Ref:- "On The Irrawaddy" by G.A.Henty:- Page 39 - at Ramoo - "I am going to the mess-room now. We are very strong in comparison to the force, for, counting the assistant surgeon, there are ten of us." Page 44 - " The little group of officers gathered together and fought to the end. Captains Noyton, Truman, and Pringle, Lieutenant Grigg, Ensign Bennet, and Maismore the doctor, were killed."

Humphrey Maysmor was the brother of Charles Maysmor Nowill's Great Grandmother. His sister Mary Anne Maysmor (9 Jan 1801 - 22 Dec 1870) married Charles Bradley of Yieldersley, Nr Ashbourne, Derbyshire, on 10 May 1821 at Mapleton Church, Derbyshire. Their second daughter - Ellen Oakden Bradley (5 May 1824 - 5 Mar 1862) married John Nowill (2 Jan 1818 - 21 Feb 1900) Cutler & Silver Plate Manufacturer of Sheffield, on 24 Dec 1844 at Wortley, South Yorks. Their youngest child John (Jack) Spencer Nowill (22 Dec 1861 - 26 July 1934) married Mary Edith Jones (11 Oct 1866 - 7 June 1958) on 19 April 1888 at The Chapel of Her Britannic Majesty's Embassy at Constantinople (Istanbul) Turkey. Their younger son Charles Maysmor Nowill (21 May 1893 - 24 Jan 1958) married Muriel Alice Travers (26 Dec 1895 - 5 Feb 1979) on 1 Sept 1925 at St. Nicholas Church, Compton, Surrey.
