Note on Husband: Francis William KERRY - shared note
Francis lived at Atherton Road Oakleigh in 1891 He served in the Merchant Navy on various ships, from 1922 until just before his death in 1935. He was mainly a steward or chief steward and his conduct and ability was listed as very good at all times.
Note on Wife: Eleanor Alexandra KAY - shared note
Eleanor travelled over to England to learn the "finer arts"! She stayed at 2 Oak Road, Sale Cheshire, with her aunt Amelia MORDAQUE, according to the 1881 census. This is near St Anne's Church, which was the original parish before St Paul's was built around 1883. She was a Sunday School Teacher and faithful helper, at St Paul's Sunday School, Sale near Manchester England, from June 1881 until 17th June 1883. Eleanor returned to Australia on the ship "Orient", departing England on 12 July 1883 and arriving in Melbourne on 29 August 1883. She played the piano very well, according to her granddaughter Marjorie. She lived at Cotham Road Kew in 1891 and at 25 Ross Street Coburg in 1912. Her aunt Amelia MORDACQUE(KAY) left her 60 pounds in her will, dated 14 October 1912. Lived at 9 Dean Street Coburg in 1949
