James lived at Bay Terrace Barkley Street St Kilda in 1891 He was staying with his aunt, Amelia MILLIST, who lived in Princess Street Kew, in January 1891. He went with his cousins, Charles Victor MILLIST and Robert Gustivas MILLIST to the Yarra River to swim their dogs. As he was walking along the steep bank of the river, he slipped into the water and drowned. The Police and civilians dragged the River and recovered his body and 6.00 pm that night.
