On the 1891 census widowed, living at 21 Clegg St, Hulme, Manchester, birthplace given as Bermuda, W Indies. This is difficult to read properly.

On the 1901 census, Mary Ann is a widow at 3 Duke St, Manchester and she has a son in law, Henry Leigh at her house. Henry is a widower with three children.
