Sampson Roe was baptised in Parwich, Derbyshire on 24 November 1743. He died in Macclesfield in 1818. His death record has his age wrong deducting 9 years off his age! He married  Sarah Billinge in about 1783, probably in Macclesfield, although Sarah was baptised on 8 April 1760 at Alstonefield, Staffordshire, not that far from Parwich. Sarah died in 1794. Sampson's second marriage to Hannah Nixon was sometime between 1794 and 1802; there were no children. Hannah was baptised 0n 25 December 1765 at Middlewich, Cheshire. After Hannah's death, Sampson married her sister Mary Nixon on 13 December 1802 at Prestbury, Cheshire.
