A Denise Hunt provided some information from the 1871 census which produced the 3 eldest children who were not on the 1881 census.

 

Death record: Q3 1878 Chorlton 8c 411.

 

Since there is an Edgar Ankers on the 1891 census recorded as Ellen (and her second husband)'s son, it is possible Edgar is a child of George and his death is Q3 1884 Chorlton 8c 550²

In 1881, widowed, living at 43 Ladybarn Lane, Withington, Lancs. On 1881 census, birthplace given as Rusholme, Lancs. Checked the IGI, only one Ellen Hebblethwaite in 1830-1840 range.
