Petty Officer Alfred Robert Fleming was lost at sea acording to Portsmouth Records Office. He was holder of the Medaille Militaire of France, fairly unusual and is commemorated on the Royal Nav War Memorial on the seafront at Portsmouth, The loss of the E30 submarine is generally attributed to hitting a mine either in the Heligoland Bight, or in a scattered field off Orford Ness. He served as PO 180617 and was awarded the Victory Medal, the Star and the British War Medal. Alfred Robert Fleming and UNKNOWN had the following children:
